Dear Hunting Friends
Since our last newsletter we have had some fantastic hunts and have been fortunate enough to guide clients from all over the world in their hopes of hunting the trophy of their dreams. As you can see below photos, we have again delivered on our clients expectations.
Before we dive into the meat of this newsletter, just a few updated from our side. We will be attending the 47th annual Safari Club International Convention from 9 – 12 January 2019 in Reno in booth #5215. We will also be at The Houston Safari Club Foundation Convention from 25 – 27 January 2019 in booth #350. If you are around and attending the show, please pop by and come and say Hi.
JWK Safaris is now also offering two hunting concessions in Namibia for plains game and leopard hunting. One of them is a free range, free roaming hunting on a 12,000 hectare hunting farm in the Otjiwarongo district with no high fences at all. The second concession we are offering in Namibia is a high fenced family farm that is 8,000 hectares in extent offering fair chase hunting with no internal fences and no camps and the hunting area is located in the Omaruru district.
Don’t hesitate to contacts us around booking into these two new fantastic hunting concessions for the 2019 hunting season approaching us.
In our Matetsi ECA concession of Zimbabwe, some great Leopard, Lion, Buffalo and Elephant were hunted Zim PH’s Steve Meyer and Zim PH Zane Bronkhorst.

In our Gonarezhou Safari Area concession PH Nixon Dzingai guided a client of ours from Europe on an elephant hunt Nixon and the client managed to hunt this very nice 60 pounder elephant bull.
We almost got another 100 pounder. The official weight of these tusks was just shy of 100 pounds per tusk at 95 pounds and 93 pounds respectively making this bull a very respectable solid 90 pounder and the biggest elephant hunted in Africa this year so far that we know of taking that title from the 85 pounder that our client shot earlier this year a month before this bull was shot in the same area.
This trophy bull as per the last one was hunted in the Gonarezhou Safari Area Naivaisha guided by Zim PH Lloyd Yeatman and assisted by RSA PH Russ Field who booked the hunt from Carl.
On another recent hunts in South Africa, a client from Europe hunted this very nice hard boss buffalo plus roan and nyala with PH Riaan Lourens:
During May, Carl hunted on our Philippolis concession with Zim PH’s Steve Meyer and Simon Dzingai. They had a great time (as always) and got these very good trophies including a 43 inch sable that Carl hunted himself. Steve brought his family and a good time was had by all.
If you want to hunt one of the best areas that RSA has to offer from a hunting perspective then look no further than our Philippolis hunting concession that is over 14,000 hectares in extent (you will literally walk your arse off) with no internal fences and over 4,000 head of game on the property including over 60 buffalo bulls and 60 sable bulls all of different ages plus cape mountain zebra to mention but a few of the species that occur here.
There are two lodges on the hunting area, a main camp that is 4 star luxury and my personal favourite an African bush camp nestled into the mountains, please follow this link to see photos of the area that is situated 2 hours’ drive South of Bloemfontein: https://www.jwksafaris.com/free-state-philippolis-lodge
PH Jono Joseph also guided a few plains game hunts, below is a great Black Wildebeest and Impala.
