DEAR HUNTING FRIENDS

I trust this 30th edition of the JWK Safaris newsletter finds you well, in this late season newsletter I would like to highlight from Zimbabwe a truly wild and exciting new hunting area, the Save Valley conservancy.  

The Rhino Roundup completely new this is some feedback on our premium grade ammo we are currently using. 

SAVE VALLEY 

When you think you have seen it all then the Save Valley Conservancy appears like an oasis in the desert. 

The Save Valley is 300000 acres  of truly wild and unlimited hunting area these where once cattle farms but plagued by the tsetse fly and marauding beasts the farms all converted and created this massive game rich paradise. Elephant Leopard Lion Buffalo Rhino hippo croc and all the plains game you can mention all persist in this conservancy all one self sustaining biosphere. In conjunction with national parks and the local communities these hunting areas create an hunting conservation effort that is excellently run and sustainable into the future, all funded by hunters dollars. The hunter being he or she is the true hero of conservation knowing that their hunting dollars, fund these projects from wells for water to schools this is the effort from hunters that keep these wild areas what they are today. 

Hunting the SAVE is hunting in the classic Lowveld, Cathedral Mopani to riverine thickets hugging multiple rivers, savanna plains  dotted with massive granite kopje’s. Some of the riverine thickets are huge and stretch far from the actual river making a perfect dagga boy den along with lots of vegetation for Mr Tusker to mention a few of the inhabitants of this spectacular area.

If there is a great way to describe some of the areas and the vegetation it would be “ hunting in Jurassic park” to see the sheer size and beauty of nature in the lowveld is an incredible experience on its own.  

The sites and sounds, the views the vistas and of course the hunting is an experience witch will leave you speechless. Truly a wild hunting area in every possible way.  

If you are a fan of the old hunting stories from Rourke, Hemmingway, Arino and Thompson to bring a few into the picture, this area gives you the feeling that hunters of old could be sitting around the camp fire with you. This area takes you back into days gone by when the land was wild and adventure lay behind every rock and in the long grass. 

The camps are each situated in special setting and unique to each area. They are very comfortable and have all the amenities you will require on a hunt with JWK. The food is prepared grown and hunted in the SAVE.  

Each area has their own resident PH’s and trackers that have extensive time and experience in these hunting areas giving you the hunting client the very best opportunity to precure the trophy you are in search of along with an experience that is truly wild.  

To elaborate I believe these hunting areas are incredibly wild , the amount of big game and plains game is as if your reading it form a book from years gone by the hunting is still and always will be challenging however its real and you will need to be on your toes.  

On my last trip up we had a leopard walk through the camp we saw lion active during the day multiple times and elephant and buffalo where seen consistently every day. This might not be the norm each day but when your out there in the field you know your in one of Africa’s Last Truly wild areas. 

In my opinion the most convenient way in and out of these areas is charter flight from Johannesburg with one stop at Buffalo Range airport to clear customs and 15 min later your in your hunting area total flight time 1hr 45min 

This way of travel frees up unnecessary travel days allowing you to add an extra trip along with you hunt.

Well done Mr GB on a wonderful hunting experience in Matetsi and your great non export Elephant incredible Klipspringer and great Hyena.  

The Father and Son team hunted in our South African Lowveld  and enjoyed the Kruger with the whole family congratulations, on a fantastic time in the field.

Old amazing friends back with us enjoyed the SAVE and took the time to enjoy every bit.

HUNTING ZIMBABWE  

We have the great Pleasure of offering a truly wild and magnificently African experience in Zimbabwe with our tried and trusted guides. 

Zimbabwe offers only free range/fair chase hunting with no fences at all in any of our offered concession areas. The areas we offer are concession areas that are directly adjoined, open and unfenced to National Parks that serve as feeder Parks to the hunting areas. These hunting areas are owned by either the Zimbabwean Government or the local Communities that lease the land to the local Operators whom we represent. 

We are not a South African company operating in Zimbabwe, we are specialist/veteran hunting agents that books hunts for Zimbabwean Professional Hunters and Zimbabwean Operator companies that are in the same group of companies as JWK Safaris, a hunt consortium. 

Our Zimbabwean concessions are fantastic for all big game hunts, these are serious hunter hunts in big game country.  

We are able to host and arrange first time hunters to Africa and veteran hunters looking for another exciting experience with JWK.

This ability gives JWK safari clients the best opportunity to precure their intended quarry during the time of their trip based on the time of year as each area will be dependent on factors such as availability of grazing,  vegetation, prey animals and water supply etcetera these can be a major contributor to the success of your safari. 

We do not sell marginal hunts JWK wants our safari clients to get what they pay for in no short measure. Each and every hunt is personally over seen by myself and tailored to fit your expectations.
