The last few days were spend in absolute bliss on our new concession up in the Northern part of Limpopo, it is all Big game country hosting all the big five, hippo, croc and cheetah plus all the plains game you can think of. When walking here you MUST always carry your firearm as you never know what you will walk into during anytime spend not on indoors, and I am sure there are a few bugs that will keep you on your toes inside too.
It was really hot up there and we moved through as much of the farm as we could walked river beds and took photos of all the points of interest. During the one long drive a thunderstorm build up and we though it was going to drench us which we were all hoping for as rain is needed desperately up there but as we thought the rain was going to fall the clouds just dissipated as fast as they grew. That was pretty incredible to see how the thunderstorm grew and then just became nothing.
We saw a great one horned old buffalo bull along with a heard rolling in one the mud wallows he would really be a great trophy if he can survive the next few years he was still young but already has a lot of character, I hope our paths cross again some that day.
I was using my brand new bullet belt designed and build by Jaco Le Roux they are custom sized to your waist and I must say that they work really well. This type of product is defiantly worth having if you are going to be walking in the bush, I carry 10 rounds cal. 470NE and the belt was not too heavy and I had my knife on there as well. You can make them bigger or smaller and have as many ammo loops as you want. You can drop Jaco a mail j_leroux@polka.co.za He makes a whole bunch of other leather goods too.
My opinion this belt is a must have and just makes hunting that bit more comfortable. I really am enjoying it and look forward to many seasons with it.
After the local leopard and hippo that reside near the camp both ended up on our rooms front veranda we new our time had come to an end and we had to leave the next day. It is a really amazing place an I look forward to taking our clients up there to do some really awesome hunting in an amazing place full or sights and wonders that will keep you awestruck and spell bound until you return again.
The year is almost done and I am looking forward to a family beach holiday.
